Live in the Path of Hope.
Join us for the Glacial Lakes SAFE (Suicide Awareness for Everyone) Annual Suicide Prevention Awareness event and Remembrance Ceremony on Wednesday, September 9th at 5:30pm at the SD Army National Guard Readiness Center. This is a free, family-friendly event open to all ages.
September 9th Community Event Timeline:
Beginning at 5:30 - Sign In and Community of Hope Displays & Activities
Before and after the 5K run/ruck and 2-mile walk, explore resource tables, interactive activities, and connect with others.
Starting at 6:00pm - 5K Ruck, 5K Run OR 2-Mile Walk
Everyone's journey is different...but we all come together for HOPE and support.
7:15pm Remembrance Ceremony - Hope Grows Stronger
Join us for a ceremony to honor loved ones we've lost. We invite you to bring a photo of a loved one for our Remembrance Display (we will return photos after the event).
Hope isn't one thing - it's different for everyone, and HOPE grows stronger through connection. Everyone's journey is different, but we will finish together; whether you march, run, walk or are there to support. This reminds us to keep going even when we feel like stopping, there is support along the way. Every journey matters.
Donations will be accepted online and during the event. Proceeds will support suicide awareness efforts in and around the Watertown community. Glacial Lakes SAFE is working to make more resources available to our community and youth!

The September Challenge - Hope Grows Stronger...Choose your journey.
Choose a path that fits you, your schedule, and your goals.
Option 1: One Step at a Time: Complete your miles throughout September
10 Miles: Walk each day from September 1 -10, or walk 10 miles finishing on World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10th - Light a candle to remember that hope grows stronger together.
22 Miles: Walk or ruck up to 22 miles from September 1-22, then take time on September 23 to "Take a Break and Breathe".
Option 2: One-Day Challenge
Prefer to do it all at once? Challenge yourself to finish the full 10-mile or 22-mile ruck in a single day during September. Our mapped routes around Lake Kampeska are available for anyone who wants to take on the full distance. The ruck march can be completed with or without an actual ruck (wearing a back pack with 5-10 pounds of weight).
